Toothy visited Tatnall school last week and received very nice thank you cards. Also a friend and patient from Tatnall came to visit and get her cleaning. That’s a great smile!

Toothy visited our patient Ms. Shannon Smith’s 6th grade math class at Brandywine Springs School where Dr. Mike’s daughter Kira is a student during Pie=Pi Day. Along with learning all about the mathematical concept of pi, the students were encouraged to bring all kinds of pie in.

There is an interesting article in Time about cancer screening and “Why excessive screening can cause unintended harm, stress and waste.”

As a surgeon, I’m trained to crush cancer. For many years, every tumor I palpated and family I counseled drove me to hunt for cancer with a vengeance, using every tool modern medicine has to offer. But recently, one patient reminded me that the quest to seek and destroy cancer can produce collateral damage.

Sometimes it seems like there is more texting than conversation nowadays. Here some of our Wahl Family Dentistry staff members enjoy their lunch and texting without actually speaking much to each other.

Four-year-old Madison Rothwell had some fillings by Dr. Mike and his assistant Quiana on Monday February 24, 2014, and Madison was the best patient all day long! Here is Madison and her mom about to pick a prize with Quiana. Thanks Madison!

Dr. Mike’s and Tina’s girls (Leah and Kira) and Dr. Peggy’s and Marc’s girls (Zoe and Grace) and Zoe’s friend Melanie enjoyed playing in Rittenhouse Square after attending a performance for children on conducting and composing at the Curtis Institute of Music on Sunday February 23.

I enjoyed seeing Leah’s vocabulary test, especially the part about “volchers.” I also enjoyed her referring to me as the “domain” of my office, even though she got it wrong. Way to go Leah!
